God’s presence is big. It’s in every nook and cranny in our lives. But as parents, we often miss his presence because we wait for him in the big moments: the birth of our children, first steps, graduation day, wedding days. The truth is, so much of life and parenting is made up of small, simple, and sometimes boring moments: making snacks, playing catch, picking up toys, and driving around town. God is with us in all of those moments and everywhere in between.

Susie Larson is joining me today to talk about God’s presence. Her newest book, Closer Than Your Next Breath: Where is God When you Need Him Most?, helps readers experience God's trustworthiness and love—even when they feel far from him.

Susie and I talk about experiencing God’s presence and goodness in the midst of the noise of parenting, why it’s important to teach your kids to look for and remember God’s miracles in their life, what happens when your parenting ideals don’t come to fruition and your kids don’t walk with God, and how to reframe our thoughts to focus on God’s goodness instead of our disappointments.
