This episode tells my most recent encounter with an email scam involving a "free" cello. I hope it will be entertaining and informative! When in doubt, don't click on links in emails or make arrangements for deals that are too good to be true. It's probably a scam! This scam involved offering a "free" cello where the victim pays for shipping via Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle, but never receives the cello. The scammer specifically asks for "friends and family" Venmo which removes purchase protection. In addition, the scammer acts as both the shipping company and the person giving away the cello, using two email addresses.
