I'm out on one of my woodland permissions today, where they do a bit of pheasant shooting. Now, I’ll admit, I haven’t exactly timed my visit like a seasoned pro. It’s creeping up on midday, and it’s hotter than a teapot on the boil, so I’m not holding out much hope for a flurry of activity. But, let’s be honest, any time spent out in the woods is never wasted—unless, of course, you’re trying to catch a tan in full camo gear. My plan today? Have a wander, check out some of the usual hot spots, and who knows, maybe luck will be on my side.
