The Good Girl Syndrome is a mindset imposed on girls and women to the detriment of their sense of Self, success and overall well-being. It is masked as socially acceptable norms - from behaviour to presentation and how to interact amongst others, to name a few. Often girls are told not to climb trees or to sit in a less suggestive manner because it would attract the wrong type of attention. Ladies are taught not to express strong views so as not to sound aggressive. They are taught to modify their attire and speak with a particular tone to avoid being labelled as rebellious.
