Today on the show I have Jaime Nack and in honor of women’s history month, we’re discussing legendary women entrepreneurs: past and present innovators.

Jaime is an active member of the National Women’s Business Council and before we jump into the interview, I wanted to give you a little history on the jaime-nack-legendary-women-entrepreneurscouncil itself.

Founded in 1988, The National Women’s Business Council (NWBC) is a non-partisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and counsel to the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on economic issues of importance to women business owners.

As the government’s only independent voice for women entrepreneurs, The National Women’s Business Council continues to be a leading voice in advancing the agenda of women entrepreneurs and advocating for broadening the pathways to success for women business owners across America.

The NWBC consist of a council of prominent women business owners and women business leaders to serve as advocates in promoting the women’s entrepreneurship agenda.

Here are a few highlights from our chat:

  • Discuss who Jaime would consider to be her favorite legendary woman innovator and why
  • Talk about the key areas of focus for the council
  • Discuss what are some concrete ways to support women innovators in their start-up phase.

Nack was named the “2013 Environmental Conservator of the Year” by the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2011, she was also named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.
