22 Years Later: Revisiting the Legendary City of God and Its Impact!
It’s been 22 years since City of God burst onto the global stage, becoming one of Brazil’s greatest films and an international blockbuster. Now, with the release of the trailer fora new series, City of God: The Fight Rages On, TeaRon and Tiera Janee dive into the legacy of this iconic film and finally spotlight a South American masterpiece on Ubiquitous Blacks Reviews.
In this special episode, we not only revisit City of God but also its sequel City of Men, directed by Fernando Meirelles. We discuss the groundbreaking performances by Brazilian talents like Alexandre Rodrigues (Rocket), Douglas Silva (Li'l Dice), Roberta Rodrigues (Bernice), and Leandro Firmino (Li'l Zé), and how these films shaped global perceptions of Brazilian cinema.
