Ep. 84: The Lost Room
Manage episode 344485641 series 1467749
Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 84th episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. For this installment, titled "The Lost Room," I found the 2006 SciFi Channel miniseries by that name starring Peter Krause and Julianna Margulies, it's one of my favorites, seriously fun find.
I talk Studio Murphy Under connections, other cross connections and identify Ray Wise as a Golden Thread in my production. My Classic Collection VHS-to-DVD discussion explored discs 1351-1375 and I highlight the MTV Video Music Awards for 2009, including a tribute to the late Michael Jackson, which then gave me an opportunity to highlight Spike Lee's 2020 reimagination of his 1995 video for "They Don't Care About Us," that link here: https://youtu.be/PoEa9bzeTu0. I also talk about the chill vibe and snapshot of history that is the Red Hot Chili Peppers' video for "Snow (Hey Oh)," that link right here: https://youtu.be/yuFI5KSPAt4
Then in my Current Collection, direct to digital, I talk about the series finales of "Better Call Saul" and "Kevin Can F Himself," with comments on "Only Murders in the Building," "The Premise," "American Horror Stories," "Reboot," "The Patient" and "Kung Fu." And in my What I've Been Watching segment, I had dueling Scaletta recommendations for "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show," both AppleTV productions, and I was disappointed by the Agatha Christie-themed period mystery, "See How They Run."
While that production fell a bit flat, it set the stage to congratulate the "All About Agatha" podcast for completing its stated goal of reviewing and ranking all 66 full-length mystery novels by Agatha Christie. The entire run is available, check that out at https://apple.co/3F0Kpc7.
Otherwise, I touch on why this episode has been so long in the making, lots of projects going on here. In July I was in a play, Capitol Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor," you can see that at https://youtu.be/0V-FBNK9QwE?t=1156 and https://youtu.be/icLT5uQydBc. In other distractions, we had a pipe burst in our basement, I built a cabinet, I made a scrapbook, and I've been fussing with my music collection some in anticipation of launching a sister podcast to this effort. It's going to take some doing, but I talk about it after my closing: "VideoFuzzy: The Soundtrack." I hope to have an introductory post put together for that shortly. Cheers!
