Today in Atlanta, we can expect a 20 percent chance of showers before 7 am. It will be mostly cloudy with a high near 75. The southeast wind will be blowing at 5 to 10 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 20 miles per hour.
As we move into tonight, there's a chance of showers, followed by showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 11 pm. The low will be around 63, and the southeast wind will pick up, blowing at 15 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 30 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 90%, with new rainfall amounts between a half and three-quarters of an inch possible.
Looking ahead to Thursday, expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm mainly before 1 pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 pm. The high will be near 72 with a southeast wind around 15 miles per hour becoming southwest in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 25 miles per hour. The chance of precipitation is 80%, with new rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
