Good morning, weather watchers! This is your friendly neighborhood meteorologist coming in hot (well, actually, quite cool and wet) with today's forecast for New York City.
Let's dive right in: We're looking at a soggy weekend ahead, so grab those umbrellas and waterproof jackets! Overnight, expect rain with temperatures dropping to around 37 degrees Fahrenheit and virtually no wind to speak of.
Saturday brings more precipitation, with rain likely before early afternoon and a chance of light drizzle later. Temperatures will climb to a mild 47 degrees Fahrenheit, with winds shifting to the south at around 5 miles per hour. We're talking about potential rainfall between a tenth and quarter of an inch.
Sunday gets interesting with temperatures rising to near 56 degrees Fahrenheit. Expect rain, especially in the morning, with south winds picking up to 14 miles per hour. Sunday night looks like a real washout with heavy showers and winds reaching 21 miles per hour.
Monday starts wet but promises to clear up, with temperatures dropping to around 52 degrees Fahrenheit by late afternoon. Tuesday brings a slight chance of afternoon showers, and New Year's Day looks like it might continue our rainy trend.
By the end of the week, we'll see some sunshine with mostly clear skies and temperatures hovering in the high 30s to low 40s.
For those planning outdoor activities this weekend, my advice? Waterproof everything and embrace the drizzle!
