Good morning, weather watchers! It's your friendly neighborhood meteorologist here with today's forecast for Washington District of Columbia.
Let's break down what Mother Nature has in store for us. Today is looking absolutely gorgeous with plenty of sunshine and temperatures climbing to a delightful 60 degrees Fahrenheit. We've got a west wind dancing around 7 to 11 miles per hour, with some playful gusts up to 20 miles per hour to keep things interesting.
Tonight, expect a clear sky with temperatures dropping to a cool 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Those winds will take a little break and become light and variable.
Now, Tuesday is bringing a bit of drama to our weather lineup. We're looking at showers likely to crash the party after 4 PM. Temperatures will hover near 59 degrees Fahrenheit with a southeast wind picking up speed. There's a 70 percent chance of precipitation, so grab that umbrella, folks!
New Year's Day is giving us a mostly sunny vibe with temperatures around 51 degrees Fahrenheit. Those west winds will be a bit more energetic, blowing 10 to 18 miles per hour with gusts potentially reaching 30 miles per hour.
As we roll into the weekend, we're seeing a cool trend with temperatures dropping. Saturday and Sunday will be mostly sunny but chilly, with highs around 34 to 35 degrees Fahrenheit.
