This week on WTFolkore, we read Salt, Sauce, and Spice, Onion Leaves, Pepper, and Drippings, a Hausa tale from Northern Nigeria. We spend a considerable amount of the episode reflecting on soup and it's metaphorical capabilities, going so far as to radically change the one presented in a story. Ironically, we forgot a core component of any soup: Evil Spirits.
