Ep. 89 — Worldly/Fleshly Christians Are Comparable To The Unrepentant Jewish Remnant
Manage episode 339593379 series 3287721
The kingdom of Judah fell in 586 BC: the Babylonian army took most of the Jews captive and deported them to Babylon.
The remnant in Jerusalem was still afraid. So, its leaders asked Jeremiah, the prophet of God, to seek God's guidance on what they should do.
Though Jeremiah told the leaders that God wanted the remnant to stay in Jerusalem and not go to Egypt, they refused.
The broadcast exhorts believers not to emulate the remnant's hypocritical behaviour: don't test God, seek God's guidance only when you haven't already made up your mind.
Knowing what befell the remnant which loved Egypt and its gods, the broadcast enjoined carnal/worldly Christians to repent and stop their love of the world and mammon (money).
