This was originally recorded in 2021 and in honour of one of our fallen; Alfred Bar (R.I.P Mar 08/2017). We talk about life, joining the military, and Joe shares some good stories. Including one of a particularly bad parachute exit. It brings in perspective the danger of the job but also the value of excellent training. Joe is to be the next course NCO, a very loving human, knowledgeable SAR tech, and good friend. There is a lot shared in the episode and i hope you enjoy it. To Al: If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you, If all men count with you, but none too much; If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it, And—which is more—you’ll be a Man, my son! Im back! This time with some funny stories from Cookie, a SAR Tech from course 42. My episodes are sporadic but I've appreciated the on going support from everyone. I balance my personal, work, and "other" time so what i put out is what i can reasonably manage at this time. Im still very dedicated to improving this resource for people and sharing what i can about the Rescue world. In keeping with that theme I have a workout program for you to check out or share. It is a well rounded program that hits on each aspect of fitness. The program can be blended with others or followed strictly. In this episode, I sit down with Don Adams, the lead instructor for the Canadian SAR Tech Basic Medical Course, to explore the critical medical phase of Search and Rescue training. Don shares valuable insights into what the course entails, the challenges candidates face, and key tips for success. Whether you're aspiring to become a SAR Tech or just curious about the training process, this conversation offers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most demanding aspects of the program. I share my training for working out or being fit if you want to view some of it, check it out or share. Thank you https://my.playbookapp.io/dylan-weller Support the show…

435 Rescue Squadron out of Winnipeg MB Dispatched 3 SAR Techs to jump into a plane crash 300km North of Yellowknife at night, in a blizzard. The SAR Techs cared for all 10 patients for around 14 hours before extraction was possible. A positive mission that demonstrates our elite capabilities to deliver care in the most inaccessible areas of Canada. There is a lot of online media surrounding this epic: but here is it firsthand from one of the SAR Techs.
