A psychiatry consult has been requested on a 42-year-old male who is recovering from a fractured left femur, pulmonary contusion, and mild concussion. The patient complains of poor sleep, recurrent nightmares, auditory hallucinations (hears son’s voice), depressed mood, irritability, and feeling “on edge” with a heightened startle response.
