SWEET HYMNS OF JOY...

1. While waiting in anticipation of Jesus

• Romans 8:19-23; Luke 2:25; Isaiah 49:13

2. Because Jesus is our consolation

• Luke 2:30-32; Titus 3:4-7
• “Their zeal in glorifying and praising God is an implied reproof of our indolence, or rather of our ingratitude. If the cradle of Christ had such an effect upon them, as to make them rise from the stable and the manger to heaven, how much more powerful ought the death and resurrection of Christ to be in raising us to God?” ~John Calvin

NEXT STEPS

• Reread Luke 1-2 and celebrate with these people as they sing hymns of joyful outburst when they encounter baby Jesus.
• Spend some time this week in a worship pose of anticipation.
• Write your own “sweet hymn of joy” to Jesus!
• Rest in the comfort we have in Jesus. Feel the embrace of a loving father, God. Pause to appreciate and thank God for His comfort this week.
