Happy New Year everyone and thanks for joining me for the first episode in 2018. One of my goals for 2018 is to tackle subjects that have intimidated me in the past, see if I can get some clarity, and begin to feel more confident about my knowledge of those topics. Donna is the founder of Kardon Compliance and also the co-host on the Help Me With HIPAA Podcast. If you haven’t personally been impacted by a cybersecurity breach, I am sure that you know people who have. It seems like every week we hear about another data breach and it’s not just big health systems, physician practices, imaging centers, health insurance companies, and even Medicaid programs. No organization is immune. Cybersecurity is a huge risk for organizations and it makes sense to not only tackle the issue from a technology perspective, but also on a personal level because it only takes one employee to respond to a phishing email to expose an entire organization. Donna knows her stuff and shares some great information and strategies for compliance officers.
