It’s guest time for the first time this season, and the Drewling Samantics boys are delighted to be joined this week by the brilliant Gary-Anthony Rogers.
We’ve all heard the phrase “the power behind the throne”, well Gary takes that in a slightly different direction by being the power behind the camera. As a talented and dedicated Director of Photography (DOP), he is always in great demand, so Drew and Sam consider themselves extremely fortunate that he’s able to take time out from his immensely busy schedule to discuss his career, how he started in the industry, and to throw some more light on the numerous projects he’s juggling at present. Gary is also able to explain how he fits into the team surrounding the director and the camera itself, to bring the script and visuals to life in the best way possible. And if you’ve ever watched the credits roll at the end of a film and wondered what those obscure and unusual job titles actually mean, Gary even decodes some of that technical jargon for us as well!
Calm, clever and insightful, Gary is fascinating and witty regarding his work, always unflappable on set, and just the man for those tricky shoots. Well, almost always, you see there was that time… nope – not spoiling it! The only way to reveal more is to tune in now!
