Chef Matt Basile is adding his most exciting title yet to his repertoire as a food entrepreneur: Co-Founder and Creative Firestarter for Alchemy Grills. After over a decade disrupting the food industry by creating Toronto’s most recognizable food truck brand, Fidel Gastro’s, then Bar Lisa Marie, a Queen West gastro-pub and brunch hotspot and also hosting the reality TV Show Rebel Without a Kitchen, Matt is combining his talents as a chef, content creator and expert with live-fire cooking to disrupt the barbecuing and live-fire cooking landscape as we know it. Over the last year and a half, Matt, along with two seasoned entrepreneurs have been cooking up something big behind the scenes and now they’re ready to launch Alchemy Grills. The Alchemy allows for the first time ever, the home cook to smoke low and slow down in a smoker box compartment, and hot and fast on the upper plancha grill at the exact same time, on the exact same unit, without having one temperature impact the other - all powered by charcoal and wood.
