While there is no threat to the public, we are posting a special edition of the Healthy Bytes podcast today to alert the public of a confirmed case of Chronic Wasting Disease in a deer harvested in the first week of deer season in southern Audrain County in November. Audrain County Conservation Agent Norman Steelman joins us to discuss the disease, where it was found and what the Conservation Department is doing to address the disease in deer in Audrain County. Also, Steelman announced there will be a public meeting, mainly for landowners in the affected area, to be held in January.
