Susan Bilheimer is an author and patient living with IC. She spoke candidly about the challenges of preserving intimacy while living with this chronic pain condition at the Interstitial Cystitis Association's (ICA) patient forum "A to Z on IC" on August 23, 2009 in Atlanta, GA. Her own struggle with sexual and pelvic pain motivated her to write "Secret Suffering: How Women's Sexual and Pelvic Pain Affects Their Relationships" with the collaboration of Robert Echenberg, MD.
