Catholic mom, Catholic women, and ALL friends seeking God- WELCOME! This is a podcast designed to provide my fellow sisters in Christ with encouragement and support for the beautiful and difficult journey of living out our vocations. Truth is that motherhood, marriage, and living out our feminine genius are incredibly hard endeavors. Yet, through the perseverance of pursuing all that is good, true, and beautiful we are tenderly being transformed into vessels of God's love, one tiny dish, meeting, or dirty diaper at a time.
So, join me, Suzanne - homeschooling momma of 6, every week as we journey together with a Mary & Martha mission towards "stilling our souls WHILE moving our world." Together, let's sit at the feet of Christ like Mary, while moving with the gusto and strength of Martha! Join me and my friends as we laugh, cry, dive deep, and explore with one another as navigate wifehood, motherhood, and sisterhood with our eyes on Christ.

Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” Hebrews 12:1. This week, I am joined by three of my dearest friends, Angela Hoyer, Mackenzie Watkins, and Bridget O'Boyle, to discuss being one another's Cloud of Witnesses. St. Paul talks about how the saints surround us with encouragement, cheering us on towards heaven. Perhaps we, sisters in Christ and saints in the making, are called to cheer each other on and persevere in the Christian life. Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! “Train up a child in the way they should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” -Proverbs 22:6. Have you ever stopped, paused, and considered the question—Why are we educating them? Of course, we want to equip them with the skills and knowledge to be mature and wise adults. Sure, we desire to help launch them into a career that will bless their future selves. But is this our end goal, my friends? No! Pope Piux XI reminds us that we are doing much more than simply training their minds; instead, we are shepherding them into becoming the saints they were called to be. " Education consists essentially in preparing man for what he must BE and for what he must do here below in order to attain the sublime end for which he was created." Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "Rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7 200 episodes, my friends! I am Praising Jesus today for the gift of journeying alongside you all for four years and 200 episodes. In this episode, I dive into my word of the year "Rooted." What are you rooted to in your life? Is it the expectations of peers, your performance at work, your iPhone, your cup of coffee, or perhaps even your holy desire to love others well?!? What if we were never meant to be rooted in anything but Christ himself? Let the Lord reveal places in your story where your heart has been uprooted from Christ - places where the deep watering of his love has yet to be received because the wounds, trauma, fears, and shame have left you turned away and drying out. This is an invitation this week to let the Lord re-root your heart and call you closer to him so that the only thing you remain tethered to is the love of God. Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Have you ever been full of shame, regret, or frustration when you encounter the undeserving love and compassion of another? Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. " Luke 2:16-19. Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins". 1 Peter 4:8. How often our world sneakily distorts our vision. What we see when we look out at our lives, spouses, children, and vocations becomes blurred with fear, anxiety, judgment, pride, and worry. But what if we were never meant to live perfectly, but rather love abundantly? What if shifting our vision to one clarified by the lense of love is the key to glorifying God with our lives? Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." ~ Romans 12:2. Are you living a radical life? We often hear that we should live radically for the Lord and can be tempted to think we are just too weak for this kind of life. "Jesus I can't sell everything, or start an orphanage, or create a new ministry! I'm too simple and small!!" But what if we have it all wrong? What if living radically for the Lord may not seem radical at all. What if living radically for Christ is really a call to live and love fully; to love the person in front of you, to be generous with mercy, to forgive seventy times, to be gracious to strangers, to be open to life, to lay down your life in service to others every single day. Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up!" Galations 6:9. This week I explore the idea of being farmer strong. What does it mean to live with a persevering abandonment toward the life we have been called to? What does it mean to lay down our lives every day to plant, grow, and one day harvest the fruit that God has planned for us? Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by[ a ] one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." 1 Corinthians 12:12-14. I suspect that if you are a momma, your motherhood matters to you. But have you ever considered that your motherhood matters to me? In fact, my motherhood matters to you too! This week I explore the truth that, because we are one body in Christ, how we love the little people in our home matters to the entirety of our church! Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee." - Isaiah 54:10. Okay my lovely friends, let's talk about motherhood. Truth is motherhood is magnificently beautiful, wonderfully life-giving, and remarkably heroic. But the truth ALSO is that it is back-breakingly HARD. But in a world that tells us that hard equals bad, we can often find our hearts filled with despair when we experience the hardness of our vocations. But what if hard doesn't equal bad, but rather sanctifyingly good? What if the shame we experience when the hard swallows us is just a nasty tool of the enemy? What if the Lord desires that we meet him in these hard places and let Him pour His mercy, compassion, and love on our weary hearts? Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the day approaching." Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "Jesus entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched Jesus closely to see if he would cure him on the sabbath so that they might accuse him. He said to the man with the withered hand, “Come up here before us.” Then he said to the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than to do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?” But they remained silent. Looking around at them with anger and grieved at their hardness of heart, Jesus said to the man, “STRETCH OUT YOUR HAND.” He stretched it out and his hand was restored. In order to be healed, Jesus asked the man to OPEN his hand. Perhaps, the Lord is waiting for us to stop clenching our tight hands, and instead to open them up to the healing grace God has in store for us. Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying of all the Lord's people." Ephesians 6:18 This week I am joined by my dear friend, Beth Sri, to discuss her latest book Pocket Guide to Prayer, which she co-authored with her husband Dr. Edward Sri. Join us as we discuss the importance of fostering a home alive with prayer. Want to connect? Send me a quick message here! “The Lord bless you, and keep you. May the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you. The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. " Numbers 4:24-26 As the busyness of the fall season is underway, I find myself paying close attention to the words that come out of my mouth? Am I gracious, am I merciful, am I encouraging, and do I pour blessings into the hearts of the little people in my home? As the Lord has continued to reveal to me the power of a momma's words, I think it is time we reflect on the incredible gift of our blessings!
