In this special episode, I sat down with Billy Dib, a 2x Boxing World Champion and cancer survivor. Billy's story is one of grit, faith, and sheer determination. Growing up in Engadine as the only Lebanese family in the area, Billy stood out like a sore thumb and was a target for bullies. This unfortunate situation led Billy to start boxing for self-defence, a journey that would end with 2 Boxing World titles, a run in with 50-Cent & Floyd Mayweather and Engadine claiming him as one of their proud sons.
Billy shares his toughest battle yet – his fight against cancer. After being diagnosed with colon cancer, and eventually non-hodgkin's lymphoma. Billy was given only six months to live. But with the heart of a champion, he didn't give up. Instead, he faced the disease head-on, using his faith and the love for his son as his driving force.
We dive into Billy's early life, his rise in the boxing world, and how his childhood experiences shaped him. You'll hear about the tough times he faced in school and how those experiences led him to discover boxing. Billy also opens up about the loss of his wife to cancer and how her memory gave him the strength to fight his own battle.
