Season 1 Finale!!!! Ending Romans we discuss Paul's passing warning against false teachers who cause division. We'll take a break over the summer before Season 2.
- Paul warns of those who cause divisions and put obstacles in the way of the gospel. Let’s be specific, what divisions can form in the church, and what obstacles to the true understanding of the gospel have come into the church?
- Let’s reference some other passages which warn of false teachers (see my sermon script for ideas)
- What examples of smooth talking and deceitful flattery are present in the world today?
- How have we as a church go on the offensive to teach sound doctrine? How does this serve as an anchor for our people when they encounter various teachings from people they know or on different forms of media?
- Perhaps look up some Biblical cross references regarding the names, i.e. Timothy. Or use this as a case study…If I wanted to find out more info about these names how would I do that on my own? What resources would help me? (Equip people to make personal Bible discoveries, this will give them a hunger for more study.)
- 16:24-27 ends with a prayer of worship to God for the gospel. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned from Romans about the gospel?
