The Miami Hurricanes put full pads on for the first time this spring on Thursday morning. The physicality was up and the battles between receivers and defensive backs in one on one drills were competitive. Xavier Restrepo and Mishael Powell were going head to head as usual with both winning some of the drills. Quarterback Cam Ward continues to throw deep with excellent tough and arm strength. Receivers Jacolby George and Ray Ray Joseph made some excellent plays.

Host Alex Donno was impressed by seeing running back TreVonte’ Citizen endure some contact in full pads. He has missed his first two college seasons with injury but is working his way back nicely. Chris Johnson Jr. also excelled at running back. Tight End Riley Williams had a good day of practice. Donno plays some comments after practice from defensive line coach Jason Taylor, who spoke about the work ethic of Rueben Bain and explained how the newcomers on the DL are fitting in. Miami has added transfers CJ Clark, Marley Cook and Elijah Alston through the Transfer Portal. The Hurricanes also have true freshman edge rusher Marquise Lightfoot playing well in practice.
