Statement of Need Providers should carefully monitor patient's height, weight and body mass index for subtle changes as well as recognize characteristics for disordered eating with the goal of early intervention to maximize patient outcomes. Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
  1. Define the eating disorders that are most common in pediatric patients.
  2. Identify symptoms and red flags of eating disorders, including co-morbidities.
  3. Discuss the common diagnostic criteria, screening tools and components of the medical evaluation for eating disorders.
  4. Describe treatment strategies and protocols for eating disorders; as well as the components for successful medical supervision.
