Statement of Need This program will provide an overview of recent innovations in genetics, highlighting gene therapy and germline genome editing. The discussion will include a review of what it is as well as applications andfuture trends in gene therapy.
Objectives At the conclusion of this offering, the participant will be able to:
- Define gene therapy, germline genome editing and precision medicine.
- Review the applications of gene therapy and germline genome editing.
- Explain the differences and clinical implications of whole genome sequencing and whole exome sequencing.
- Discuss future trends of gene therapy and germline genome editing.
