No matter what! 5 min: What does the rest of the day look like? 5 min: What does the rest of the week/month look like? 5 min: What big decisions do we have coming up? 5 Min: Get it off your chest. This conversation is with LTC Trivius Caldwell. Trivius is a fellow infantry officer pursuing his PhD at Duke University who will soon take command of the Red Devils in the 82nd Airborne Division. Today's episode we're going to hear from a handful of People who recently chose to serve, and a couple who have been serving for a few years. They will talk about some of the things they are NOT looking forward to. Some of the disappointing things they have experienced already. They will also talk about what's on their mind when they think about serving long term and what might push them towards doing something else. If you are a leader, and you want to know what your People are thinking, ask them. Ask better questions. Actually care about what they think. Actually care about what they say. If you truly care, they just might tell you. I hope you enjoy today's conversation. Why Teach Me to Fish? Catch someone a fish, feed them for a day. Teach them to fish, feed their family for life. Let us know what you are think about this episode here. 💬 Text here. This episode was recorded a year ago. A lot of things sound similar. Trivius and I were transitioning jobs, moving our families, taking on new responsibilities, and doing our best to keep learning and growing as leaders, for any team we are a part of. We hope this episode helps you reflect on where you were a year ago, and be proud of the progress you have made. Momentum builds when you get a little better every day. +1%, progress = small victories, stacked on top of each other, building like compound interest. We'd love to hear from you using the links in these show notes, on our social media pages, and leave a comment on Apple Podcast, Spotify, or your favorite streaming platform.
