Rising inflationary pressures associated with the post-COVID reopening have driven central banks like the Fed to begin to unwind some of the extraordinary steps they had taken to provide liquidity and stabilize markets during the pandemic. One of the primary tools available to central banks to combat inflationary environments is the ability to influence interest rates.
