In this episode, I share a story about how I recently learned the reason I hate hiking is actually likely due to an undiagnosed medical condition. With help from my friend, Lex Lancaster, she asked the right questions while we were on a hike (she sold it as a walk) and shared a case with me that made it clear that the uncomfortable feeling I get in my legs while hiking is not from tight calves and being "out of shape" but likely chronic extertional compartment syndrome.
This story highlights how powerful the stories we tell ourselves and our clients are and discusses compartment syndrome and its systemic nature.
This is the beginning of my journey with compartment syndrome, and I share my general plan for rehab. (And will continue to in a future podcast episode).

Considering the viscera as a source of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction is a great way to ensure a more true whole body approach to care, however it can be a bit overwhelming on where to start, which is exactly why I created the Visceral Referral Cheat Sheet. This FREE download will help you to learn the most common visceral referral patterns affecting the musculoskeletal system. Download it at www.unrealresultspod.com
