BCAAs — leucine, isoleucine, and valine — are “essential” amino acids that we need to obtain through our diet. Post-exercise BCAA supplementation might help alleviate muscle soreness after vigorous exercise but supplementation with BCAAs or leucine is unlikely to directly boost your performance.
