Good morning, Columbus! This is your weather update for the day, straight from the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Ohio.
Buckle up, because winter is giving us a serious cold shoulder today! We're looking at temperatures that'll make you want to hibernate. Overnight, expect a chance of light snow flurries with temperatures diving down to a bone-chilling 3 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind chill will feel like negative 9 degrees, so bundle up like you're auditioning for a polar expedition!
Martin Luther King Day is bringing us a sunny but frigid day. The high will barely crawl up to 12 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills around negative 10 degrees. If you're heading out, think layers, layers, and more layers.
As we move into Tuesday, we're keeping an eye on potential snow flurries before 4 PM. The high will struggle to reach 13 degrees Fahrenheit, with wind chills hovering around negative 6 degrees.
The rest of the week looks like a rollercoaster of winter moods. Wednesday will be mostly sunny with a high of 18 degrees Fahrenheit. Thursday warms up slightly to 31 degrees, and by Saturday, we might even see temperatures climbing to a balmy 38 degrees.
Sunday brings a 30 percent chance of rain and snow, with temperatures reaching 39 degrees Fahrenheit.
Just a heads up we've got a Cold Weather Advisory in effect, so take those winter precautions seriously protect those pipes, check on vulnerable neighbors, and dress like an onion lots of layers!
