Good morning, New York City! I'm your weather buddy bringing you the chilly winter forecast that'll have you reaching for those extra layers.
Today, we're looking at a crisp sunny day with temperatures struggling to climb to around 31 degrees Fahrenheit. Bundle up, because the wind chill is going to make it feel like a frosty 5 to 15 degrees. Our north winds will be cruising at around 6 miles per hour before going a bit lazy and turning light and variable.
Tonight gets interesting with a 40 percent chance of snow showers after 4 in the morning. Clouds will start rolling in, and temperatures will nudge up to about 31 degrees by 5 am. Expect a southwest wind around 6 miles per hour keeping things just a bit lively.
Tuesday brings a 50 percent chance of snow showers before 1 pm. We'll start cloudy but then transition to mostly sunny, with highs near 38 degrees. The wind chill will hover between 25 and 30 degrees.
The holiday outlook looks pretty decent - Christmas Day will be mostly sunny, holding steady around 32 degrees with a north wind between 7 to 9 miles per hour.
As we roll into the weekend, temperatures will gradually climb. By Saturday, we're looking at a partly sunny day with highs near 44 degrees, and Sunday brings a 40 percent chance of rain with temperatures reaching about 47 degrees.
