“Lone wolves do not heal broken bones. It takes the pack to be able to provide and protect so that your bone can heal otherwise you die, and that might be a career death, it might be financial death or it may be actually a real death. But whatever it is, that is your marching orders as warrior culture is to be able to address these issues and not avoid them, no bypass.” -Phlip Folsom

In today’s episode of The Wenner Folsom Battle Tested Resiliency Podcast, Joshua and Philip, traditional warrior class men and ex military talk about how emotional trauma affects us and the 4 levels of emotional trauma. One thing that warriors need to be careful of is treating a level 3 trauma like a level 4 trauma as they resist getting help from professionals when they have an emotional break and instead they treat it like an emotional amputation. The average man or woman living in the United States on average has 3 major traumatic emotional events in their lifetime whereas first responders have on average 180. It's critical for those who deal with emotional trauma as part of our careers to get the care we need to help to repair the break and get us back into life.
