In this episode, Hannah is joined by Dr Veronica Ivy, who is an interdisciplinary scholar and professional athlete. Veronica talks about what it’s like navigating the sporting world as a trans woman, the recent increase in transphobia in sports, and what she means by sport being a human right. She debunks so many myths around hormones, trans people, and performance, and shares perspective on how the socialisation of children of different genders impacts their sports performance. Finally, Hannah and Veronica discuss the misogynoir directed towards Black female athletes and how cis athletes can be effective allies.
